Must-Follow Chefs, Cooking, and Recipe Accounts on TikTok
By Brittany Zerr
TikTok is a controversial social media platform. Despite it being scrutinized for privacy concerns, Millennials and Gen-Z alike are using this platform to share some of the best content since Vine. TikTokers are creative — remixing audio, dancing, dueting, cosplaying, and more. But my favorite part of TikTok is food TikTok, where people get creative in the kitchen.
When I started my TikTok account, the algorithm quickly learned that I liked food, recipes, cooking tips, and food humor. Maybe you haven’t been on the food side of TikTok yet, or maybe you already are and want to find more accounts to follow. I recommend checking out these amazing creators!
@acooknamedmatt (Chef Matt Broussard)
Matt’s videos are all pretty short, and he has great knife skills. Watch him slice, dice, and chop things on TikTok.
@aragusea (Adam Ragusea)
Adam offers practical recipes, food science, food history, food safety, nutrition, and rants. I’d say that a majority of his content is on the food science and cooking tips side — from how to tell if a steak is done to what is a heirloom plant. Follow Adam if you like to learn.
@bakethisbread
Even if you’re not interested in making homemade bread, these videos are mesmerizing and beautiful.
@chefchrischo (Chef Chris Cho)
Follow this man and fall in love with Korean cuisine. From kimchi to ram-don, Chef Chris has you covered. The first video I saw by Chris was his dumpling fried rice video — my mind was blown. I never would have thought to use dumplings in fried rice! Genius.
@cookingbomb (Vivian Aronson)
Vivian Aronson was featured on Season 10 of MasterChef! Now she’s taking over TikTok with delicious Asian recipes — Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, and more. She includes measurements in her videos, so it’s easy to follow along.
@cookingwithshereen (Cooking with Shreen)
Whether you’re looking for recipe inspiration for breakfast, lunch, or supper, Shereen has you covered. She always encourages cooking from scratch in her videos and provides Chefie tips to help you become a better cook.
@eitan (Eitan Bernath)
Eitan’s cooking videos are super high energy. Scrolling through his profile will make you hungry!
@flakeysalt (Joshua Weissman)
Joshua Weissman (aka @flakeysalt) has everything from recipes to cooking how to’s. Whether you want to learn some basics or find recipe inspiration, you’ll find what you need here. Stay for the 🎂.
Fun Fact: Joshua is featured on our Food & Cooking YouTube Channels to Follow post.
@iamtabithabrown (Tabitha Brown)
Tabitha is a wholesome person who must be protected at all costs. Watch her cooking videos and fall in love with her.
@jeremyscheck (Jeremy Scheck)
Jeremy’s videos will make you hungry. I mean, all of the accounts listed here will likely make you hungry, but Jeremy’s will for sure. His slower-paced and lighthearted videos are a nice change of pace from the fast-paced food videos that are more common on TikTok. His videos are instructional, so you should be able to follow along if you find something you want to make!
@newt (Newt)
I think Newt was one of the first food accounts that popped up in my For You Page. Since then, I’ve been hooked. I vibe with Newt’s video style.
@officialfunfoods (James Lamprey)
Like the account handle suggests, they post videos of fun food such as giant gummy bears or rainbow cake. No healthy food here. Just sugary treats. Mmmm.
@omnivorousadam (Omnivorous Adam)
Adam has an addicting personality — once you watch one video, it’s hard to stop. His food videos are fun and refreshing, with humor sprinkled throughout.
@the_pastaqueen (The Pasta Queen)
If you like pasta, follow this account. Enough said.
There are thousands (or maybe even millions) of food/cooking accounts on TikTok, so it’s impossible to include them all! These are just a few that I enjoy — I’ll definitely be adding more in the future, so be sure to check back again.
If there is a TikTok creator that you love, let me know! I’m always looking for new accounts to follow.
